Obituary for Alverta L. "Perry" Rhamy

Alverta L. "Perry" Rhamy, age 94, of Wooster, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Wooster following a sudden illness.

She was born on May 14, 1922 in Maysville, Ohio to Louis L. and Belle (Rouhier) Chenevey and has been an area resident for most of her life.

She married George W. Rhamy on July 26, 1941. He passed away in 1998.

She was a devoted homemaker who loved spending time with her family.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was also involved with the Mission Circle Club; was a lifetime member of Women of The Moose Club; enjoyed playing golf and cards; working crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her sons, Jack (Jennifer) Rhamy of Shreve, Lynn (Yvonne) Rhamy of Colorado Springs, Co.; grandchildren, Michelle Rhamy, Jeffrey Rhamy, Andrew (Christan) Rhamy, Douglas (Lisa) Rhamy, Craig (Chris) Rhamy, Nicholas Rhamy, Sara (Jeremy) Widener and Tom Robinson; great-grandchildren, Cal and Grant Rhamy, Ashley Pado, Luke and Sydney Rhamy, Henry and Anna Rhamy, Cody and Charli Rhamy, Logan and Parker Widener; many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Nancy.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sons, Lawrence D. Rhamy and Thomas L. Rhamy; brothers, Francis, Vernon, Leonard and Melvin Chenevey; sisters, Evelyn, Lorena and Rose.

Services will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Rev. Fr. Stephen Moran officiating followed by burial at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to any local veterans organization.
