Obituary for Lois R. Stutzman

Lois R. Stutzman, age 88, of New Pittsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 19, 2016 at her residence following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 24, 1928 in Meyersdale, Pa. to John and Lydia (Tice) Yoder.

She married Maynard Stutzman on April 9, 1950. He went home to be with the Lord in 1993.

She and her husband became owners of the "Village Kitchen" in West Salem from 1975 - 1980. She then worked as a cook with various other restaurants throughout the area .

Lois was also a devoted homemaker who mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Throughout the years, she loved cooking for her family and for various church functions. She was at her happiest when she was in her kitchen.

She was very active with and a member of Chestnut Ridge Mennonite Church in Orrville.

She is survived by her sons, David (Miriam) Stutzman of Nashville, TN., John (Sheryl) Stutzman and Richard (Darlene) Stutzman all of Sarasota, Fl., and Robert Stutzman of Wooster; daughters, Donna Moyer of Lakeland, Fl., Ruby (Mike) Baird of Millersburg, Carolyn (Stan) Miller of Sarasota, Fl. and Virginia (Robert) Ewing of Wooster; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Yoder of Grantsville, Md.; 2 brothers, Marvin Yoder of Grantsville, Md. and Monroe Yoder of Bronx, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Stutzman; brothers, Roy, Olen, Raymond, Cloyd, John Jr. and Daniel Yoder; sisters, Iva Lantz and Verda Mast.

Services will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at East Union Mennonite Church in Orrvlle with Pastor Marvin Zuercher officiating followed by interment at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, in Wooster and one hour prior to services (10:00 a.m. - 11:00a.m.) on Thursday at the church.
