Dorothea Giordano

Dear Roseanne and all the family, My deepest sympathy to you in the loss of Dale, whom we all loved. He taught me so much. Singing Susanna under his direction in A Marriage of Figaro was the highlight of my whole college experience. And I will never forget Mr. Moore's larger-than-life personality! One time he told me "Tell them that is something up with which you will not put!" He shared my joy when he sang at my wedding and shared my sorrow when I suffered a vocal injury that cut short my singing career. Roseanne, I will never forget your hospitality the summer I stayed with you for a week when singing with The Ohio Light Opera. (Your cat was not as hospitable--you both went to an out of town wedding, and your cat whom I cared for in your absence was mad at you for leaving and pooped on your bed!) I also could not believe my good fortune that week in getting to drive your Spider sports car to rehearsals. I was delighted when our son Andrew got to study voice with Dale at IU. It was fun to have dinner out with you both in Bloomington as well. So many, many happy memories. May you be comforted by your good memories as well. I remember Dale calling you his "nearest and dearest", Roseanne. May God comfort you in your sorrow, as well. With love and gratitude, D.G. Fox Giordano
