Obituary for V. Ruth Mumaw

V. Ruth (Rohrer) Mumaw, age 91, went home to be with the Lord August 7, 2016 at Burbank Parke Health Care.
She was born May 6, 1925 in Wadsworth to Clayton and Martha (Knupp) Rohrer. She has been a longtime resident of Wayne County.
She married Floyd E. Mumaw August 18, 1946 at Bethel Mennonite Church in Wadsworth. He preceded her in death.
She was an active member, as long as able, at Wooster Mennonite Church, where she was one of the founding members. She enjoyed music and sang in a Trio at the church which sang on Wooster Radio, WWST, in the 50’s and 60’s. She had worked at Wooster Community Hospital, Smithville Landmark, Glendora Health Care and Wren Sales and Rentals. She also clerked auctions at Madison Hill and for her husband. She also enjoyed quilting, making quilts for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud to be on the committee for Mennonite Relief Sales.
She is survived by sons Glenn (Carla Powers) Mumaw and Gene (Kimberly) Mumaw all of Wooster; daughter Julia (Wes) Lambert of West Salem; daughter-in-law Geraldine Lehman-Mumaw of Elkhart, Indiana; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter Nancy Jean Mumaw; son Gerald Lee Mumaw; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 PM at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Drive in Wooster. Graveside service will be held Saturday 9:30 AM at Martins Mennonite Church Cemetery in Orrville. Pastor George Swain will conduct the funeral service Saturday 11 AM at Wooster Mennonite Church.
