Obituary for Mary Louise Weinman

Mary Louise Weinman, age 95, of Wooster, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, July 26th, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Gambier, Ohio following a short period of declining health.

Mary Louise was born on May 17th, 1921, in Funk, Ohio to Moses D. and Myrtle (Johnson) Overholt and has been an area resident for all of her life.

She graduated from Wooster High School and Ashland College with her teaching degree.

She married Wayne Weinman in Wooster on October 24, 1948. He went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 1998.

She started her education in a one room school house in a class taught by her father, she eventually became the school teacher in one room school houses in her area. She subsequently taught at public schools including Jeromesville, Smithville, and Wooster City Schools.

She was a member of Parkview Church of Christ in Wooster for many years. Prior to this she was a member, pianist and organist for Wayne Presbyterian Church where she later was an elder in the church. She was also a Sunday School Teacher for both children and adult classes.

Mary Louise had a musical talent and could play the accordian and make a piano "sing". She played with the Mel Stocksdale orchestra for square dances where she met her husband.

She belonged to Union Grange in Madisonburg, Ohio where she played the piano and also became a 7th degree Grange member. She also belonged to the Wayne County Farm Bureau Council and Wayne Township Housekeeper's Club.

She loved to travel with her family on many fishing trips to Canada and other trips including Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Europe, Mexico and South America.

She was a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution and the Retired Teacher's Association.

She is survived by her children, Paul Weinman of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Ellen Fulk of Gambier, Ohio, David (Lisa) Weinman of Wooster; grandchildren, Scott (Shannon) Weinman of St Augustine, Florida, Curtis Weinman of Jacksonville, Florida, Kelley (Zack) Collins of Centerburg, Ohio, Jacob, Kasey and Laura Weinman all of Wooster; 2 great grandchildren Gavin and Harper Collins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Weinman.

Services will be Saturday, 12:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Drive, Wooster with Pastor John Miller officiating followed by interment at Wooster Cemetary.

Visitation will be one hour prior (11:00 - 12:00 p.m.) to services on Saturday.
