Obituary for Wayne A. Banfield

Wayne A. Banfield, age 62, of Shreve, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 27, 2016 at his residence following a brief battle with cancer. His loving family was by his side.
He was born on February 4, 1954 in Barberton, Oh. to Wilfred E. and Betty Jane (Fisher) Banfield.
He had lived in the Rittman area for many years before moving to Shreve where he has been a resident for the last 15 years.
He married Elizabeth C. Clark on October 21, 2000 in Blachleyville. She survives.
He has worked as a General Maintenance Supervisor for Artiflex in Wooster for the last 24 years.
He was a member of the Ashland Cloud Chasers, the N.R.A, and the A.M.A. (Airplane Model Association).
He enjoyed shooting, archery, riding his motorcycle and was a tinkerer. He mostly loved spending time with his family and friends throughout the years.
In addition to his mother of Rittman and wife, he is survived by his children David Banfield of Wooster, Matthew (Rae Anne) Banfield of Rittman, Shawn Lemon of Wisconsin, Shane (Stephanie) Lemon of Wooster, Melissa Banfield of Shaker Heights, Oh. and Shannon (Clifford) Schmedeke of Toledo, 10 grandchildren; siblings, Lloyd (Patricia) Banfield of FL. and Sharon (Dwight) Prewitt of Washington State and Elizabeth Kempe of Cleveland; his faithful canine companion, "Bear".
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a niece.
Services will be Thursday, March 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Pastor Ernest Hershberger officiating followed by interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreve.
Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m.
