Obituary for Alice L. Berkey

Alice L. Berkey, age 90, of Wooster, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Life Care Hospice in Wooster following a period of declining health.
She was born on February 7, 1925 in Bluffton, Ohio to William and Pauline (Doty) Augsburger and has been a Wayne County resident for most of her life.
She married Roger Berkey on August 15, 1948 in Bluffton, Ohio. He went home to be with Jesus on July 6, 1998.
Alice was a devoted homemaker who also loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kim Berkey of Wooster, Michael (Alyssa) Berkey of Wexford, PA., and Susan (Gene) McConahay of Smithville; grandchildren, Andrew McConahay of Canton, Benjamin (Courtney) McConahay of Wooster, Megan (Rob) Howard of Orrville, Erin (Adam) Buttavacoli of Massillon; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Alena, Corran, and Kalla Howard, Willow McConahay and Eden Buttacavoli.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a grandson, James Berkey and a brother, Billy Lee Augsburger.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Oak Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery in Smithville with Rev. Rex McConahay and Rev. Ray Aspinal officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to: Life Care Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Oh. 44691.
The family would like to thank her special caregivers and friends at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, Brittany, Rachel, Bonnie, Brandon, Leslie, Mandy, Hannah, Jackie, Karen and many more. They had been a part of her family for the last 6 1/2 years.
