Obituary for Lilian Jap "Nellie" Kwee
The Lord God has taken our dear mother and grandmother, Lilian "Nellie" Jap Kwee, age 93, of Wooster, to her eternal home on Friday, August 14, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family at the Wayne County Care Center in Wooster.
She was born in Cimahi, Indonesia to K.H. and G.S.N. (Oey) Jap. She moved from Indonesia to the United States in October 26, 1965.
She married Hong "Hank: Kwee in 1950 in Indonesia. He went home to be with the Lord, in May 29, 1996. She had also previously worked as a Chemist until 1954.
She was a an active member of Northview Alliance Church in Wooster where she was also involved with the Beulah Sunday School Class.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed sewing and alterations; was a member of the Wooster Community Center Senior Citizens Group; the Wayne-Holmes Diabetes Assoc.; and Town And Country Homemakers Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Gwen Kwee of Kent, Ohio; a son, Hans T. Kwee of Wooster; a grandson, Chris (Kaitlin) Kwee of Cincinnati, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Lies Ong; and an infant brother, Nelson Jap.
A Celebration Of Life service will be Friday, August 21, 2015 ,2:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Care Center, 876 S. Geyers Chapel Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 with Pastor Kristy Buyok officiating.
There will be a time of fellowship immediately following the services on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Wayne County Care Center Auxiliary, 876 S. Geyer Chapel rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or to the Great Commission Fund, c/o Northview Alliance Church, 3464 Burbank Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Thank you to Wayne County Care Center staff and Dr. James Bay for the TLC provided to our mom and grandma.
