Thomas R. Rasel, age 72, of Creston, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 7, 1943 in Akron, to Oscar Robert and Grace Elizabeth (Neptune) Rasel and has been a long time resident of Wayne County.
He had served in the U.S. AirForce during the Vietnam Conflict from October 1, 1964 - October 26, 1970.
He married Mary Warner in 1980. She survives.
He had previously worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Columbia Gas Co. before retiring after 20 years of service and enjoyed bird watching.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, John Thomas & Krystn Hood-Rasel of Aurora, Ohio and a step-son, Adam W. (Leah) Ballard of Delaware, Ohio; 3 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sisters.
A private family interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
There will be no public visitation.
