Obituary for David Keith Oreno

David Keith Oreno, age 66, of Wooster, passed away, Friday morning, January 16, 2015 at his home following a period of declining health. He was surrounded by his family.
David was born on July 26, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Peter and Norma (Jones) Oreno and was the youngest of six children.
His father's Italian heritage meant a great deal to he and his family throughout his life.
After graduating from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, he then enjoyed playing guitar in a rock and roll band named, The Dabblers.
He then graduated from the University of Utah and West Minster College of Salt Lake City with a Masters Degree in Education. He loved his time teaching as an elementary school teacher along with also coaching little league baseball for many years.
He married the love of his life, Loice Ann Speck and recently celebrated their 40 years of marriage together. She survives.
He also performed in numerous plays at The Promise Valley Playhouse and his greatest love has been with both reading and writing books. He was very proud throughout the years to have had his own library of books.
David was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He has especially appreciated and enjoyed his many callings and opportunities he was given through the church.
David has always kept a positive outlook on life. His friends and family have always enjoyed all of the stories and memories he has told with such enthusiasm about his life experiences.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his precious daughter, Challi (Jared) Hankins and his three grandchildren, Alora, Ariel and Logan all of Wooster; his siblings, Larrie (Shirley) Oreno of West Jordan, UT, Arlene Durham of Redondo Beach, CA., Karren (John) Fairbanks of Lehi, UT and Eugene (Mary) Oreno of West Valley, UT.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his eldest brother, Johnny (Margaret) and nephew, Perry Oreno of Utah and his in laws, Lester and Hazel Speck of Wooster, Oh.
David dearly loved his parents, siblings and other family members throughout the years.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Bishop David Benfield officiating followed by interment at New Pittsburg Cemetery in Wooster.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either: LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or Wooster Community Hospital Home Health Care, 1761 Beall Ave., Wooster , Ohio 44691.
The family would like to sincerely thank LifeCare Hospice and Wooster Community Hospital Home Health Care for their loving care and concern for David and his family.
