Obituary for Richard E. Elder

Richard E. Elder, age 80, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Wayne County Care Center in Wooster.
Richard was born on August 5, 1934 in Coshocton, Ohio to Robert and Lena (Fleming) Elder and has been a Wooster resident for most of his life.
He previously worked as a deputy sheriff and a truck driver for many years in the area.
He had attended the Church Of God in Millersburg; was a member of both the American Legion as well as the NRA and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by a son, Kevin Eugene Elder of Wooster and a daughter, Karla Sue Hale of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Joshua Hale, Jason Eugene Elder, Clark James Elder and Mallory Ann Elder; a nephew, Willis (Bonnie) Schuch of Irvin, TX.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Schuch; a niece, Debbie Hale and a grandson, Chris Hale.
Services will be Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Pastor Del Miller officiating followed by interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
Visitation will be an hour prior (12:00 - 1:00 p.m.) to services at the funeral home.
