Obituary for Gladys L. Rogers

Gladys L. Rogers, age 89, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Autumnwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rittman following a short illness.
She was born in Barberton, Ohio on June 2, 1925 to Martin H. and Gazella (Holderman) Becker and has been a Wayne County resident for all of her life.
She married Grover "Eugene" Rogers on October 4, 1966 in Jackson County, Mississippi. He went home to be with the Lord on December 18, 1987.
She started working for the Intl. Paper Co. in Wooster in 1955 as a Machine Operator before retiring in 1988. She previously had attended Smithville United Methodist Church in Smithville; in her later years she enjoyed staying active through water exercising at Wooster High School and loved walking; she also enjoyed being outdoors and especially mowing her yard, planting flowers and trees.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Larry) Kasserman of Rittman and a son, Fred E. Sollsberger of Hampton, GA.; grandchildren, Bryan and Kelly Landis of Barnesville, GA., Stacey Ann and Greg Steele of Wooster, OH. , Lonnie and Traci Sollsberger, Troy and Nancy Sollsberger, all of Concord, GA., Travis and Amy Sollsberger of Hampton, GA.; 5 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.; a brother, Charles D. "Chuck" Becker of Dalton, OH. and 4 sisters, Ruth F. (Don) Roberts of Wadsworth, OH., Evelyn Freed of Cleveland, OH., Dorothy Apthorpe of Windam, OH. and Carol A. Pitman of Sterling, OH. and her neighbors who cared and looked out for her throughout the years.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Edward Sollsberger and two brothers, Harold L. Becker and Stanley M. Becker.
Services will be Thursday, 12:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating followed by interment at Smithville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) on Thursday.
