Obituary for Steve Topovski

Steve Topovski, age 82, of Wooster, died early Tuesday morning, July 8, 2014 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster following a long period of declining health.
He was born August 30, 1931 in Dillonvale, Ohio, a son of Jack and Anastasha (Zook) Topovski. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School then served his country with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1954.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Elser on February 26, 1956. She survives living in the home they designed and he built at 6212 Lattasburg Rd. in Wooster.
Steve worked in the building trades all of his life supervising construction of Bob Evans Restaurants in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Virginia during his final working years.
Steve loved his family, the out doors, fishing, sports and traveling. He and Shirley traveled throughout the United States and visited many countries worldwide. One of his favorite journeys was a trip to Russia where he got to see the area where his parents had been born.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Shirley, are their four sons: Mark (Betsy), Greg (Kimmie), Neil (Dawn), and Brian (Heather) Topovski; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Brittany), Taylor (Alex) Relitz, Anastasha, Celia, Sawyer, Skyler, Anna, Landen, and Avery Topovski; four great-grandchildren, Kaden, Emma, Brantley, and Colton; a brother, George Topovski and a sister, Helen Fry, both of Wooster; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bill, Alex, and Nick Lastohkein, John and Mike Campbell, Leon and Tony Topovski; and a sister, Margaret Baxstrom.
Until ill health prevented him, Steve attended the Akron-Canton Church Of God.
As per his wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. A private burial of his cremains will take place at a later date.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster is honored with serving the family.
