Obituary for Mary Janis Kale - "Together Again"
Mary Janis Kale, age 87, of Wooster, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at home with her daughters by her side.
She was born on January 8, 1927 in Bergholz, Ohio to Laci and Antonina Skalsky. She married Martin G. Kale on November 26, 1949, who passed away on February 25, 2006.
She was a professional dance instructor for Arthur Murray Studios in 1948; and a buyer for the Marlite Co. in Dover, from which she retired after many years of service. She enjoyed crocheting and playing golf, and her family.
She is survived by her children, Marci (Paul) McHam of Doylestown, Maureen "Neen" (Bob) Arnold of Wooster and Marty (Kathy) Kale of Brookline, NH; grandchildren, Vanessa Thomas (Scott Copley), Matt (Debbi) McHam, Tim Rastetter (Mary Robertson), Adam and Seth Kale and her “adopted” granddaughter, Marilyn Russell; great-grandchildren, Selina, Gavin, Matthew, Jonathan, Joshua, Gemma, Lucas, Colt, Cassidy and Noah; her loving feline companion, "Iggy Kitty", her dear lifelong friend, Sophie Prisbylla, her close friends, Marcia Hothem, Evelyn Beal, Carolyn Grasseli and many others.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by grandson, Mikey McHam.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 13th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster, with a short prayer service following her eulogy.
The interment will take place Monday, 11:15 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Family and friends may meet at the funeral home on Monday at 10:15 a.m. to leave in procession.
