Obituary for Randall S.M. Lehman Rev.

Rev. Randall S.M. Lehman, age 90, formerly of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Shady Lawn Health Care in Dalton.
He was born on March 12, 1924 in Orrville to W. Bert and Mabel (Berg) Lehman. He attended elementary school in both Wayne and Holmes Counties and graduated in 1954 from San Diego High School, San Diego, CA.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the 2nd Armored Division. He was wounded in action at the King Albert Canal, on the Belgian/Holland Border and was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and four service medals with five bronze stars.
He married Helen "Maxine" Horst on October 13, 1956 at Angola Indiana First Methodist Church. She went home to be with the Lord, October 16, 2007.
He graduated from Southeastern University with a B.A. degree in Bible and Systematic Theology and attended Bethany Theological Seminary and Winebrenner Seminary.
He was ordained to the ministry by the Church of the Brethren and Pastored churches in Michigan and Ohio.
For over 40 years, he worked as a painter starting in 1938.
He was a member of Chippewa Church of The Brethren. He was a lifelong member of Cedar Lodge #430 F&A.M. in Orrville; Scottish Rite Bodies, 32nd Degree Mason, Canton, Ohio; Tadmor Shrine Temple, Akron, Ohio; Order of St. Luke The Physician, serving as Chaplain in the Holland, Michigan Chapter; Member of Sonshine Society as well as Via De Cristo Ohio.
Along with Mrs. Lehman, he enjoyed traveling, having been to all 48 states; enjoyed visiting museums both historical and presidential. Was an avid reader of religious publications and as a hobby was active in writing devotional material under the theme of "Gems of Christian Thought".
He is survived by his children, Donald R. (Betty) Horst, Jr. of Loudonville, Cheryl (Denver) McCumbers of Orrville, Stewart (Ursula) Lehman of Wooster and Karen (Richard) Horst of Smithville; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Bradley (Shirley) Lehman of Dalton and a daughter-in-law, Carol Lehman of Massillon.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Mark "Doc" Lehman; 5 brothers and a sister.
Services will be Thursday, May 8, at 11:00 a.m. at East Chippewa Church of The Brethren in Orrville where the family will immediately greet friends following services at the church for a time of fellowship and food.
Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. leaving the church in procession by 1:30 p.m. to be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman where military honors will take place.
