Obituary for Mary E. Amstutz
Mary E. Amstutz, age 92, of Dalton, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 1, 2013 at Shady Lawn Health Care Center in Dalton.
Services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Smithville Mennonite Church, 6097 Akron Rd., Smithville with Pastor Todd Martin and Rev. Gordon Zook officiating.
Interment will take place one hour prior (10:00 a.m.) to services at the Smithville Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 2 - 4 & 6 -8 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Smithville Mennonite Church, MYF or BQF Fund, P.O.Box 455 Smithville, Ohio 44677.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.

Mary was born on November 3, 1920 in Smithville to David S. and Fanny (Kropf) Zook and has been a Wayne County resident for all of her life.
She married Arthur L. Amstutz on November 12, 1941 in Orrville. He went home to be with the Lord, in January 1994.
She previously worked as a Supervisor with Ohio Central Telephone Co. and United Utilities Co. in the Telephone Traffic Dept. in Wooster for 24 years. She then worked as a Shaklee Distributor and Supervisor for many years.
She was a lifelong member of Smithville Mennonite Church where she was heavily involved with youth ministry which included bible quizzing.
Later in life, she and her husband spent their winters in Florida and were members of The Tabernacle of Sarasota were she was very active in the tape ministry.
She enjoyed youth ministry; loved to travel; enjoyed gardening; an avid reader in bible studies; and loved to visit her many family and friends throughout the years.
She is survived by a son, David B. Amstutz of Toledo, a daughter, Joanne (Jan) Kauffman of Dalton; 2 grandchildren, Jared (Melinda) Kauffman of Orrville and Jeanine (Chris) Pachis of Dalton; 5 great-grandchildren, Jami Marks, Jade & Jagger Kauffman, Haley Hamilton and Landon Pachis; nieces, nephews and her friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Clara Zook Mumaw; 2 brothers, John and David Zook; nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff and personnel at Shady Lawn Health Care Center for their excellent care and concern throughout her stay and also to Hospice Life Care for their special caring and comfort.
