Obituary for Willie L. Pickett

Willie L. Pickett, age 73, of Wooster, entered into rest, Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital following an extended illness.
A Service of Celebration will be Monday, 2:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Apostle Dr. Lottie Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour (1:00 - 2:00p.m.) prior to services. Military honors will also follow services at the funeral home.
A private interment will then take place at the convenience of the family following services.

Willie was born on October 29, 1939 in Fayetteville, TN. to Robert and Vinnie (Reeves) Pickett and has been a Wooster resident for most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in 1958.
He previously worked for various factories and farms throughout Wayne County and retired in 2006 as Kitchen Supervisor for Kentucky Fried Chicken Co.
In his healthier days, he enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and mostly spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Angela Pickett of Youngstown, Robin Pickett of Akron,Amy Davis of Huntsville, Alabama, Sonja (Jerry) Ray, Monalisa Pickett and Riyeasa Pickett all of Wooster; 10 grandchildren,Arico, Idris, Alphonse, Cameron, Lexis, Michael, DeeJay, Theo, James and Tia; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Jefferson of Huntsville, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; the many who also knew him as a father figure and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Robert Earl and Albert Pickett.
