Obituary for Sonja S. Evans-Pope

Sonja S. Evans-Pope, age 43, of Wooster, entered into glory, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Akron General Medical Center where she was surrounded by her family following a long illness.
Services will be Thursday, 2:30 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster, Ohio with Pastors Steve Smith and Lee Anderson officiating.
A private interment will follow at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior (12:30 - 2:30 p.m.)to services on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the funeral home to help defray expenses.

She was born on December 6, 1969 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Richard Curtis, Sr. (Gloria Jean Wright) Evans and has been a Wooster resident since 1977.
She was a devoted homemaker and was a member of Hands Of Grace Church in Wooster; enjoyed crafts, shopping, bible trivia; enjoyed watching game show's and her favorite color was purple.
In addition to her loving mother of Wooster; she is survived by her children, DeVine Evans, Preston Evans,Diamond Evans, Kaironday Legette, Keyontae (Ariel) Legette and Kenisha Pope all of the Wooster area; grandchildren, Jayden, Adrean, Kaelynn, Laylah, Javion, Braylon, Tatiyana, Dominic, Myles, Anihya and Massiah; her siblings, Michael Evans of Brooklyn, N.Y., Valarie (Edward) Evans-Davis of Mansfield, R. Curtis, Jr.(Amy)Evans of Rittman, Sonia M. (David) Evans of Wooster, Patricia (Devon) Rippey of Brooklyn, N.Y. and JoMo (Nishya) Tinsly of Brooklyn, N.Y. Tosha (Junior) Campbell, Nikisha Evans, Ebony Evans of Cleveland, OH., Tina Evans, India Evans of Canton and Michelle Evans of Columbus,OH. nieces and nephews, Special nephew, La'Melle Evans, Di'json Evans, David D. Lee, Ra'Melle K. Lee, JaMarque Evans, Amir Evans, Deron Rippey, JoMo Jr. Tinsley and Marquis Tinsley, Kaylisha Causey, Khadija Evans, Aairyka Evans, Sabrina & Katrina Gambles, Shathora Tinsly, DeNaya Rippey, Tara Tinsly, JaMara Tinsly and God-father, Willie Lewis ; a special Aunt Hattie Evans and Uncle James "Unc" Evans; many other numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Rosalee Evans.
The family wishes to thank Dr's Miller and Brown for the special care and concern throughout the years as well as the staff of both Wooster Community Hospital and Akron General Medical Center.
