The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Dear Family, I was visiting my mother at Westview on Thursday. Just as I was walking down the hall, I heard the most beautiful piano music coming from a lounge. I stopped and turned back to where the music was coming from and was shocked to see a beautiful pianist sitting in her wheel chair playing from memory. I stood and listened and when she finished, I gave her a big round of applause and she raised her head and gave me this beautiful smile. Then her helper, Myra Leaper recognized me. She and I worked at Rubbermaid and she was also my children's piano teacher for a brief time. She introduced me to your dear mother (grandmother) and we had a connection being my husband, David, just retired from teaching at the College for 41 years. She told me about being in Hawaii and our mutual friend Jean Baird. Over the weekend I told my children and family about the beautiful music I heard. Her playing brought tears to my eyes especially at this time when I am struggling with my 96 years old mother's stroke. I just want to write to you to express the power of her music which touched me deeply and I was privilege to hear shortly before she departed. Please accept my deepest sympathy, Pei-hsin Gedalecia
