Even though I never met her, I have heard you talk so much about her,,I feel like i did. I know you two were close and there will be an emptiness with her passing. Condolence From: David Chilson
Condolence: Marian (Smith) Jaffray and my mother Marian (Roller) Chilson were classmates at Wooster (class of 1941). The "Two Marians" remained friends for the rest of their lives. They corresponded regularly through their "Round Robin" letters. And they always looked forward to seeing each other at Wooster reunions. I got to know Marian Jaffray (and her husband Bob) in the early 1970s. Bob and Marian lived in Kailua, Hawaii and I was stationed with the Navy at Kunia, Hawaii. Marian and Bob invited me to their home and made me feel very welcome there. I received a letter from Marian less than a month ago -- with two color pictures from Wooster reunions and a very nice note. You will be deeply missed Marian! Thank you for being such a good friend to my mother. And my deepest sympathies to your family members. David Chilson Bowling Green, Ohio

Condolence: My condolences to her family. I knew Marion through her volunteer work organizing the vocal scholarship competition for the McDowell Club. She was such a delight to know and to work with. It was fascinating to learn more of her history, but not surprising that she had led such a full and interesting life. Her memory is a blessing.

Condolence: Dear Family,
I was visiting my mother at Westview on Thursday. Just as I was walking down the hall, I heard the most beautiful piano music coming from a lounge. I stopped and turned back to where the music was coming from and was shocked to see a beautiful pianist sitting in her wheel chair playing from memory. I stood and listened and when she finished, I gave her a big round of applause and she raised her head and gave me this beautiful smile. Then her helper, Myra Leaper recognized me. She and I worked at Rubbermaid and she was also my children's piano teacher for a brief time. She introduced me to your dear mother (grandmother) and we had a connection being my husband, David, just retired from teaching at the College for 41 years. She told me about being in Hawaii and our mutual friend Jean Baird. Over the weekend I told my children and family about the beautiful music I heard. Her playing brought tears to my eyes especially at this time when I am struggling with my 96 years old mother's stroke. I just want to write to you to express the power of her music which touched me deeply and I was privilege to hear shortly before she departed.
