Obituary for Duane H. Princehorn

Duane H. Princehorn, age 82, formerly of Wooster, is now in God's loving embrace following his battle with kidney disease on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Genesis Health Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio.

Duane was born on November 29, 1934 in East Greenville, Ohio to Homer and Grace (Hohenadel) Princehorn.
He graduated from Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio in 1953 and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Education from Ohio Northern University in 1957.

He married Betty A. Huffman on October 28, 1961 in Lorain, OH.

He put his degree to use as a teacher at Horace Mann Middle School in Lakewood, OH. where he taught for over 25 years teaching Industrial Arts, Mathematics and Computer Science. During this time, he served in the Ohio Army National Guard and continued his education by earning his Master's degree from Kent State University.

Duane's passion definitely was his family, but when he had extra time he could be found creating numerous furniture and woodworking projects or tending to his vast flower and vegetable gardens. He never hesitated to share the fruits of his labor with others. His gift of teaching expanded well outside the classroom as he always shared his vast knowledge to aid those around him, which was his way of making the world a better place.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In addition to his loving wife of 55 years, he is survived by his son, Todd (Andrea) Princehorn of Luna Pier, MI. and daughter, Marschal (James) Sutphin of Lebanon, KY.; grandchildren, Megan Nally, Jenna and Logan Sutphin, and Briana Princehorn; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Dean (Joyce) Princehorn of Massillon, OH.
