Rodney Sparks, age 60, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 16, 2017 at his residence in Wooster following an extended battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 8, 1957 in Dayton, OH. to Raleigh and Carol (Ashcraft) Sparks.


He married Nancy L. Miller on June 27, 1981 in Miamisburg, OH. She survives.

He has been a resident of the area for the last 3 years and worked as an Operations Manager for Worthington Industries in Wooster. Due to his job, he had previously lived in Maryland, and Kentucky before moving to Wooster.

He enjoyed golfing and watching all types of racing sports including NASCAR; enjoyed all different types of sporting events; enjoyed UK Basketball and especially loved watching his sons also play.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Ethan Raleigh Sparks of Lexington, KY., Carson Reed Sparks, Jacob Rodney Sparks and Colton Miller Sparks all of Wooster, OH.; 2 sisters, Karolyn (Clyde) Craft and Peggy (Johnny) Pack all of Miamisburg, OH. and a brother, Danny Sparks of Miamisburg, OH.

His parents preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be Thursday, 6:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor Tom Broyles officiating.

Visitation will be 2 hours (4:00 - 6:00 p.m.) prior to services at the funeral home.

A committal service will then take Friday, 4:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Miamisburg, OH. and all are welcome to attend.
