Obituary for John M. Haberkorn

John M. Haberkorn, age 77, of Wooster, entered into rest, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Autumnwood Nursing Center in Rittman following a period of declining health. His family was by his side.

He was born on November 2, 1939 in Mount Morris, Michigan to Eugene & Iola (Welch) Haberkorn and has been an area resident for most of his life.

He graduated from Loudonville High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

John retired from Rubbermaid in Wooster where he had worked in the Maintenance Dept. for over 30 years.

He proudly belonged to Wooster Armed Forces Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his children, Shirley Loomis of MA.; Michael Haberkorn of MA., Chris (Carrie) Haberkorn of Reno, NV., Thea Kelley of Orrville and Tira (Herb) McGee of Big Prairie; many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lois and Joyce and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Patrick Haberkorn, his sister, Lora Jean Smith and a brother, Robert Haber.

A Visitation of Celebration will take place on Friday, October 13th from 4 - 6 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster where family and friends may gather.

Military rites will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. by the 555th Honors Detachment from Wooster to honor his service to his country.
