Obituary for William E. "Bill" Bishop

William E. "Bill" Bishop, age 86, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 6, 1931 in Canton, Ohio to Harvey and Mae (Goodman) Bishop and has been a Wooster resident for over 50 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from August 8, 1950 - June 9, 1954 and married Jean A. Thorley on March 6, 1953 in Decatur, Indiana. She survives.

He had taught for many years in the Distributive Education Dept. at the Wayne County Schools Career Center in Smithville. He was also known by his many students as "Mr. B".

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wooster; enjoyed golfing and traveling and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Nanette Kaye (William "Bill") Roebuck of Westerville, Ohio, grandchildren, Tiffany E. Ricart and Christopher J. Roebuck; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth and Paul.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jay and Robert "Bob" Bishop.

It was his wishes there be no public services.

A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.
