Shirley Baker, age 80, of Wooster,passed away, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Wooster Community Hospital following a sudden illness.

She was born on August 17, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Carl and Dorothy (Fritch) Leopold and has been a Wooster resident for the last 42 years.

She married Albert P. Baker, II. He passed away on December 12, 2007.

Shirley was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed listening to the solid gold oldies music and mostly loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Palmer of Wooster; Jeffrey A. (Treva) Baker of Ashland, Jean Klingler of Jeromesville, Carl A. (Carol S.) Baker of Wooster, Debra Young of Cleveland, Scot Baker of Cuyahoga Falls, Samantha Hill and Albert P. III (Tammy) Baker all of Wooster; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; 2 sisters, Carleen Mitchell and Lynn Wycoff both of Cleveland.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 3 son-in-laws, Howard "Doc" Palmer, Gary Klingler and Darwon Young.

Services will be Saturday, 3:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster.

Visitation will be 2 hours (1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.) prior to services.

A private interment will follow the service at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to: American Heart Assoc., 4682 Douglas Cir. NW, Canton, OH. 44718.

The family would like to convey their appreciation to all of the staff of the Wayne County Care Center for their care and concern during Shirley's stay.
