About Us

About Our Funeral Home

Custer-Glenn Funeral Home Inc. is a family owned and operated business in Wooster, Ohio, and was established in 1984 by the former owner, John A. Custer.

At its founding, the company offered both funeral services to accommodate each family’s needs and also provided ambulatory services for the Wooster and surrounding communities.

In 1990, Samuel A. Glenn joined the company as a licensed funeral director and licensed embalmer as well as a licensed EMT to assist with serving the needs of the community.

When Mr. Custer retired, the ambulatory portion of the business was sold to Samaritan Care Ambulance Services in Orrville and Samuel became manager of the establishment until 2007, at which time he and his wife, Christine, became sole owners of Custer-Glenn Funeral Home.

Because our funeral home is based and known for serving families, in 2007, we added Wayne County's only pet cremation services division to our funeral home called, Unforgettable Tales Pet Cremation and Memorial Services.

It is located in our separate building right behind our funeral home.

While years can bring changes, Custer-Glenn Funeral Home continues to provide the quality of service in which the company was originally founded on.

  • Celebrant Services
Our funeral home offers a variety of services for your family to choose from including burial, cremation, alternative memorial services, traditional funerals and more creative celebrations of life. At Custer-Glenn, we want to help families design a funeral that truly honors the life and spirit of their deceased loved one. We will go out of our way to provide you and your loved ones with the highest standard of care. Each aspect of the funeral deserves careful consideration and the right guidance to ensure that you receive the funeral services you want.

In addition to our many funeral service options, our funeral home offers a variety of support services designed to help your family through difficult times. We understand that grief and bereavement do not end when the service is over. That is why we offer interactive and comprehensive aftercare that includes videos, emails and counseling from our Executive Counseling Director, Dr. Virginia Simpson. We also offer a 365-day series of grief support and have made available extensive resources for dealing with grief and bereavement. We know that everybody deals with the loss of a loved one differently, that is why we believe it is important to offer unique aftercare options.

Death is a reality that we all must deal with in life. At Custer-Glenn our many years of experience have taught us that most people, in many ways, are unprepared to deal with the loss of a loved one. Whether it is lack of knowledge about what to do when someone dies, what type of flowers to gift the family or not understanding proper funeral etiquette, we have resources to help.
