Obituary for Carolyn J. Hart

Carolyn J. Hart, age 76, of Apple Creek, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Wooster Community Hospital following a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 7, 1940 in Akron, Oh. to Tom and Betty (Perry) Alcorn. She married Arthur James Hart on December 20, 1959 in Akron. He passed away on August 21, 1992.

She previously worked at the Apple Creek Elementary School as a cook for 26 years before retiring in 2005.

She was an active member of Dalton Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She loved gardening and also enjoyed sewing, canning and was an avid reader. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia A. (Michael) Gorfido of Massillon, Oh., John W. Hart of Apple Creek, Oh., Mary L. (Rick) Buzaki of Marlboro, Oh., Daniel J. (Amy) Hart of Wooster and Julee L. (Steve) Forney of Wooster; grandchildren, Beth, Stephanie, Anthony, Amber, Micala, Ethan, Lindsey, Arthur and Zachary; a great-grandson, Tristan; brothers, L. Gene (Brenda) Alcorn of Navarre, Oh., and Arnold (Laura) Alcorn of Wooster; and a sister-in-law, Betty Alcorn of Akron.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Henry and Roger Alcorn.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with interment to immediately follow at Apple Creek Cemetery.

A memorial service will then take place, 2:00 p.m. at Dalton Baptist Church where there will be a time of food and fellowship following the services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to: Dalton Baptist Church, 400 Lincolnview Dr., Dalton, Oh. 44618.

She was a kind and gentle person who always enjoyed being around people.
