Obituary for Lavonia B. Copeland- Flickinger
Lavonia B. Copeland - Flickinger, age 88, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 21, 2016 at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster following a period of declining health.
She was born on August 2, 1928 in Flintville, Tn. to Andrew Jackson and Annie Mary (Pickett) Copeland and has been an area resident of Wayne County for most of her life.
In addition to her being a devoted homemaker, she previously worked for Rubbermaid in Wooster where she retired from after many years of service.
She was previously a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Wooster and had attended Living Water Fellowship in Wooster; enjoyed the the outdoors and especially loved gardening and had a "greenthumb" for growing things and loved to play Bingo.
She is survived by her children, Linda L. Yoder, Edith "Edie" Clark and Cynthia Rose all of Wooster, Jessica Flack of Raleigh, N.C. and Veronica (Jeff) Miller of Wooster; Wayne D. Flickinger, Jr.; a son-in-law, Kenneth E. Engel, Sr. of East Palistine, Oh.; step-children, Nancy (Tom) Bennardo of IN., Vincent (Janie) Flickinger of Tx.; a step-daughter-in-law, Lois Flickinger of In.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren with another great-grandson expected in March; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra M. Engel; a grandson, Scot Clarke; 5 sisters and a brother; a step-son, Mickel Flickinger.
Services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor Kirk Fairhurst officiating followed by interment at Apple Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour (1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.) prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to: Life Care Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Oh. 44691.
