Obituary for Thelma L. Edmiston

Thelma Edmiston, age 95, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster.

She was born on February 20, 1921 in Ritchie County, W.Va. to Pearly and Pearl Arnett and had been a Wooster resident for most of her life.

She married Charles Ross Edmiston and together they raised two sons and built three houses. Ross passed away in 1993.

Thelma worked as a buyer in the women's clothing department at Freedlanders store from where she retired after many years of service. She traveled to New York and Chicago to evaluate fashions and buy merchandise for the store.

In addition to spending time with her family, Thelma enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, needlework, reading, gardening, traveling, and taking care of her beloved Golden Retrievers Dusty and Misty. In her later years she was happy just relaxing on her back porch and enjoying the view.

She is survived by a son, Lennie (Ann) Edmiston, grandchildren Sean and Kristen Edmiston, all of Northridge, California; a sister, Patti Coulter of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son Charles Louis Edmiston; grandchildren Anthony, Jennifer and Valerie Edmiston; brothers Pearly, Virgil and William; and sisters, Genny, Eve, Pauline, and Donna Lee.

The family wishes to thank the staff of both West View Healthy Living and Wooster Community Hospital Home Health for their kind care. Also a special thanks to: Lanny and Sandy O'Hail, Joe and Phyllis O'Hail, and Linda Patterson for their care, support and companionship for Thelma during her later years.

It was her previous wish that there be no services.
