Obituary for Paul "Pete" Flickinger

Paul "Pete" Flickinger, age 86, of Wooster, enterred into rest, Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Ashland, at the Hospice of North Central Ohio Care Center with his family present following a period of declining health.
He was born on June 13, 1927 in Wooster to Ira C. and Dessie E. (Miller) Flickinger and has been a Wooster resident for all of his life.
He served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He married Helen M. Combs on October 13, 1951 in Indiana. She died previously.
Paul worked as a Set-Up Man and various other positions during his 42 years before retirement for Frito Lay.
He enjoyed working outside and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
He is survived by his children, Susie (Jim) Nelson of Shreve and Jeff (Lovina) Flickinger of Wooster; 4 grandchildren, Jamie (Jacob) Scott and Andrew "A.J." Nelson all of Hamilton, N.Y., Michael Flickinger and Tyler Flickinger both of Wooster; a brother, Roy (Donna) Flickinger of Wooster.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a brother, Dean Flickinger.
Services will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Pastor Arnie Kaufman officiating followed by interment with military honors at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wooster.
Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
