Obituary for Charles W. "Bill" Tomassetti

Charles W. "Bill" Tomassetti, age 69, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 24, 2014 at his residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer. His family was by his side.
He was born on September 19, 1944 in Wooster to Marion E. and Thelma (Stillwagner) Gentry and has been a life long resident of the area.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Glenda "Joyce" Haught on December 10, 1966. She survives.
He previously worked with Rubbermaid for 22 years and then became Owner/Operator of C.W. Auto Sales for the next 31 years and Honeytown Video for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Mary of Conception Church; the International Ford Retractable Club and the Wooster Cruisers Club for many years.
He enjoyed spending time at car shows and was a "people person" who loved meeting new people throughout the years.
He mostly loved to spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Christopher "Chris" William Tomassetti and daughter, Angela Joy (Ronald) Johnson both of Wooster; 3 grandchildren, Justin and Ronnie Johnson and Jessica Tomassetti; 2 great-grandchildren, Ellie and Reese Johnson; sisters, Bonnie Tomassetti, Carol (Doug) Bonnell, Sally (Chuck) Nicholson all of Wooster, Carol Miller of Apple Creek, Shirley Dominic of Holmes County and Jackie (David) Buffington of Akron; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Pat Tomassetti who raised him and a sister, Judy Ray.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Monday.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either: St. Mary of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave. Wooster, Ohio 44691 or Hospice Life Care, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Denise, Doug, Billie Jo, Tom and Mark all of Hospice Life Care who cared for Bill during these last few months.
