Obituary for Oscar C. Yoder

Oscar C. Yoder, age 85, of Apple Creek, passed away, Friday, June 22, 2012 at Wooster Community Hospital following a sudden illness.
A private family interment will take place at Apple Creek Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster is privileged with serving the family.

He was born on June 1, 1927 in Holmes County to Stephen D. and Emma (Miller) Yoder and has been a Holmes and Wayne County resident for all of his life.
He married Aldene Miller in 1951. She passed away in 1992. He then later married Betty J. Harter in 1996 in Apple Creek. She survives.
Prior to retiring, he had been a self employed truck driver most of his life. He was a member of the Apple Creek United Methodist Church; Oscar loved listening to Swiss music and especially Button Box tunes. He was an avid collector and enjoyed going to auctions and sales every week. He also liked watching Cavs basketball.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Cinda L. Yoder (Neal A. Klann) of Wooster, Ron (Carol) Yoder and Laurie S. (Rick) Blackburn all of Apple Creek; Larry (Linda) Harter of Millersburg and Christine Harter of Wooster; grandchildren, Donny Lemon, Misty Mateer- Lemon, Katrina Lemon, Mike (Shelley) Drouhard, Derek (Mel) Drouhard, Eric (Kerri) Harter and Chrystal (Mark) Gallion; Great-grandchildren, Kye Lemon, Kane Drouhard, Gauge Drouhard, Kinsley Drouhard, Quintin and Gavin Harter and Anistin Gallion; a brother, Galen Yoder of Shreve, Ohio, a daughter-in-law, Lisa Harter of Victorville, CA. and his beloved canine companion, "Charlie".
In addition to his parents and first wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Danny Harter; 2 brothers, Loren and Carl "Kink" Yoder and a sister, Ruby Hantzsche.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Hospice staff and especially to the wonderful nurses who provided such great care and comfort to the family during this difficult time.
