Obituary for Verba E. Yoder

Verba E. Yoder, age 88, of Wooster, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord for eternity on Tuesday morning, January 24th, 2012 at Wooster Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Wooster Mennonite Church, 1563 Beall Ave., Wooster with Pastor John Schmid officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Church Mennonite Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster. Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

She was born in Holmes County, Ohio on February 5, 1923 to Eli and Fannie (Boley) Troyer and has been a Wayne County resident since 1956.
She married Moses J. Yoder in 1942 at Martins Creek Mennonite Church in Holmes County. He passed away on July 29, 2003.
She was a devoted homemaker raising 7 children; was a member of Wooster Mennonite Church; loved gardening and cooking and mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Harold E. (Pansy) Yoder of Fredericktown, Ohio, Mary L. Potts of Dallas, TX., Shirlee (John, Jr.) Kirven of Wooster, Vaden L. (Anna Marie) Yoder of Apple Creek, Ohio, Leota F. (Robert H. ) Underwood of Wooster and Kristina J. (Bruce A.) Schemrich of Shreve, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren; and a sister, Edith (Aden) Gingerich of Farmington, N.M.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Gilbert, a daughter, Karen and a son-in-law, Troy Potts.
