Obituary for Dorothy Maury Tisher
Dorothy Maury Tisher, age 95, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully, Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at West View Healthy Living where she was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in January 29, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA. to Charles and Sophia (Winkler) Maury.
She married William Tisher, Jr. on April 9, 1948. He went home to be with the Lord, on March 28, 1998.
She then moved from Pittsburgh to Wayne County in 1940 and was a member of Creston Presbyterian Church; enjoyed gardening and especially growing flowers; loved to travel and was a very loving mother who enjoyed spending time with family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, John (Kathleen) Tisher of Wooster; a daughter, Nancy (David) Bertsch of Abilene, TX; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Mackey.
Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Creston Presbyterian Church with Pastor Alice Phillips officiating followed by interment at Wooster Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour (1:00 - 2:00 p.m.) prior to services at the church.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either: Creston Presbyterian Church, 13070 Cleveland Rd., Creston OH. 44217 or West View Healthy Living, 1715 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster,. Ohio 44691.
