Obituary for Wilma "Jean" Higgins

Wilma  "Jean"  Higgins
Wilma "Jean" Higgins, age 76, of Wooster, entered into rest, Friday, August 11, 2017 at Wooster Community Hospital following a long period of declining health.

She was born in Beallsville, Ohio to Wilfred H. & Thelma L. (Brandon) Phillips and has been a resident of the area for most of her life.

She had previously served in many capacities including as a workshop teacher at the former Apple Creek Developmental Center in Apple Creek for almost 30 years.

She enjoyed making pottery and collected many different types of items throughout the years. She was also very proud of her Indian heritage and loved spending time with her family and especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Rob Higgins; daughters, Barbara J. Higgins and Julia L.Helms all of Wooster; 3 grandchildren, Eric Higgins, Jacob Helms (Kim Harvey), Alexis Higgins (Nolan Rowe); 3 great grandchildren, Hailey M., Hanna L., and Conner Higgins; 3 sisters, Shirley Kuhn (Jeff Brown) ,Sandy Phillips and Charlotte Phillips (Tom Hoke) all of Woodsfield, Oh.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant brother, Eugene Phillips; a sister, Helen Elder and her beloved canine companion, "Peggy".

It was her wishes there be no services. A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Neuhart Cemetery in Woodsfield, Oh. at a later date.
