Obituary for Sonja Elizabeth Walters (Anderson)
Sonja Elizabeth Walters, age 63, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 1st, 2017 from injuries sustained following an automobile accident.
She was born on August 27, 1954 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to Leale and Mary (Carruthers) Anderson. She has been a Wayne County resident for most of her life.
She married Earl H. "Butch" Walters on June 17, 1972 in New Philadelphia, Ohio. He went home to be with the Lord, on April 23, 2012.
She had worked for Frito-Lay in Wooster for over 30 years where she served in many capacities before retiring in 2009.
She was a member of the Wooster Eagles Club; for many years, she enjoyed caring for and spending time with her pet therapy dog, "Tank"; She also enjoyed going to the beach and was an avid football fan. She was also known as a very engaging person who enjoyed being around people. She mostly loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Chad A. (Lynn) Walters of Ontario, Oh. and Jamie (Angela) Walters of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters, Crystal Walters and Sabrina (Matt) Willoughby all of Apple Creek, Oh. ; grandchildren, Caden, Jalen, Caleb and Evan; 2 step-grandchildren, Ty and Ali; a great-grandchild; brothers, Robert Anderson of Tuscarawas, Oh. and Jimmy Anderson of Dover, Oh.; sisters, Barb Fox of Dover, Oh., Linda Nedrow of AL. and Debra Mishler of Dalton, Oh.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Millard "Midge" Anderson.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Thursday at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster.
Services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wooster.
