Obituary for Lois L. Drake

Lois L.  Drake
Lois L. Drake, age 68, of Apple Creek, entered into rest to be with the Lord, at her residence, on Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 19, 1949 in Braxton County, W.Va. to Vincent and Gertrude L. (Hammerick) Lane and has been an Apple Creek resident for most of her life.

She married Gilbert W. Drake, Sr. on February 14, 1975 in Orrville. He survives.

She had previously worked as a School Bus Driver for the Southeast Local School District for 17 years. She then worked for Inn Maid Noodles, Inc. in Millersburg for 10 years prior to her retirement.

She enjoyed line dancing and participating in the annual, Bus Driver Rodeo. She mostly loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She also had a very strong and passionate faith in God.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Pamela J. (James) Porter of Shreve and Gilbert W. ,Jr. (Jodie) Drake of Apple Creek; grandchildren, Shelby G. Mullet, Jacob C. Porter, Gilbert W. Drake, III and Nick J. Drake; a granddaughter, Madalyn E. Brown; siblings, Dreama L. Studer of Wooster, John (Linda) Lane of Massillon, Gloria D. (Rod) Tish of Holmesville, Beverly G. Tish of Millersburg and James (Karen) Lane of Massillon; her life long best friend, Penny Riffle of Orrville.

Her parents precedes her in death.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Chaplain Pat Beadle officiating.

A visitation for family and friends will take place 2 hours prior to the service Wednesday (5:00 - 7:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Wooster Cemetery.

A Reception Celebration of Memories for family and friends will be on Thursday from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m. at her daughters residence in Shreve

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
