Obituary for Donald Ray Egbert

Donald Ray  Egbert
Donald Ray Egbert, age 80, of Wooster, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster following a period of declining health.

He was born on September 26, 1937 in Barberton, Ohio to Nelson C. and Mary Jane (Harvey) Egbert and has been an area resident of Wooster for most of his life.

Following his graduation from Wooster High School, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard from February 11, 1961 - September 30, 1966.

Donald then worked for Ohio Boxboard Co. in Rittman for many years. His hobbies included photography and he enjoyed collecting camera equipment, die cast metal cars and trucks and coins throughout the years.
Donald had a great sense of humor and he was very skilled at making others laugh while residing at the nursing home

He is survived by his 2 nephews and a host of friends which also included his many care givers at Glendora Health Care Center where he resided for the last 3 years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin sister, Carroll "Dorothy May" Furr and a brother, William A. Egbert.

A Celebration of Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, May 12th from 4- 6 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster.

An inurnment will then take place on Tuesday, May 15th , 2:00 p.m. at Wooster Cemetery where military honors will also be conducted.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to The American Heart Assoc., c/o Wooster Community Hospital, 1761 Beall Ave. Wooster, Ohio 44691.

Thank you to the staff of Glendora Health Care Center for their love and support shown to Donald while in their care and also to Life Care Hospice in Wooster for their loving care and concern.
