Obituary for Mary Ellen Swingle (Schuch)

Mary Ellen (Schuch) Swingle, age 87, of Orrville and formerly of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord,, Thursday, August 16th, 2018 at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville following a period of declining health. She left the sweet embrace of her daughters into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour and the gentle kiss of the love of her life. It was a very beautiful transition.

Mary was born on March 7, 1931 in Wooster to Harry and Vida (Mackey) Schuch and has been a life long resident of the area.

She married John W. Swingle on June 3, 1951 in Wooster. He went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2010.

Mary was a devoted home maker and for many years had also worked as head cook for the former Perkins Pancake House in Wooster.

She was a member of Orrville Baptist Church and former member of Parkview Church of Christ in Wooster.
For many years, she was proud to help with the church dinners and belonged to the Women Of The Word (Wow)women's group; she enjoyed knitting, sewing and along with her husband, she also enjoyed working the Popcorn Trailer at The Wayne County Fair.

She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Robert) Daye of Bainbridge, GA. and Penny (Tim) Corle of Orrville; grandchildren, Tiffany (Nick) Roan of FL., Jason (Monica) Daye of CO, Roger (Cheryl) Corle of TN., Tifany (Eric) Giauque of Wooster; great-grandchildren, Logan and Kierstin Roan, Brady, Skylar, Aiden, Maizie, Emma and Dessie Daye, Chandler, Madison and Gavin Giauque, Samuel and Mia Corle; a brother, Jay (Betty) Schuch of Shreve; sisters, Louise Everett of CA and Pearl McKinley of Wooster; many nieces and nephews and her faithful canine companions, "Minnie and Stanley".

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Julius, Harry, Jr. and Walter Schuch and sisters, Maxine King, Odella Cowling, Virginia Schuch and an infant sister.

A Celebration of Life service, will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Orrville Baptist Church with Pastor Bradley Dews officiating.

Visitation will be one hour (10:00 - 11:00 am) prior to the services at the church. The family will also greet friends following the services for a time of comfort food and fellowship.

A private family interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

The family would like to personally thank LifeCare Hospice and Brenn-field Nursing Center for their kind and compassionate care during Mary's stay.
