Obituary for Danny L. Merckle

Danny L.  Merckle
Danny L. Merckle, age 64 of West Salem, passed away, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital Lodi following an unexpected illness.

He was born on April 13, 1954 in Wooster and has been a West Salem resident since 1981.

He married Betty L. Purdy on September 17, 1981 in Wooster. She survives.

He worked as a Machinist with Rexroth Corporation in Wooster for 33 years.

Danny enjoyed fishing and also was known as a handyman throughout his community and the Village Of Congress. He enjoyed repairing both lawn mower equipment and automobiles to name a few.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carrie (Matthew) Reed of Apple Creek, Lisa (DJ) Reichert of Wooster, Steven Jones and Brian Jones both of West Salem, ; 5 grandchildren, Owen, Kole, Keynan, Trista, Chloie; a brother, Lonnie (Beverly) Merckle of Nashville, Ohio; a niece, many cousins and his close friend, Aaron Freeman.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A private interment has taken place at the convenience of the family. A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either: Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, Oh. 44691 or the the charity of the donor;'s choice.
