Obituary for Elsie M. Johnson (Stalder)
Elsie M. Johnson, age 96, of Wooster, went to heaven peacefully to be with the Lord and Jesus, Thursday, January 10, 2019 from her residence in Wooster.
She was born on July 21, 1922 in Parral, Oh. to Harry G. and Goldie Iona (Armbrust) Stalder.
She moved from Pittsburgh, Pa. to Wooster in 1974 and became the dining room manager for the Ramada Inn and later the Wooster Country Club before retiring after many years of service.
Before moving to Pittsburgh she worked for the Timken Co. in Canton.
She was a member of Christ Community Methodist Church in Canton and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Richard D. (Lisa) Johnson of Wooster and her grandchildren, Christi (Jeff) Rowekamp of Columbus, Oh., Heather Johnson of N.C., David Johnson of Wooster and Chris Johnson of CA.; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ally Rowekamp of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; her close friends Phyllis Hannon, Marie Bower, Major Mary West, Lori and Mark Eisel & family, Ruth Lear, Judy Watson and many other friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her previous husbands, David Meese and Richard Johnson; brothers, Duane J. Stalder, Paul W. Armbrust and a sister, Doris Fisher.
Memorial services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16th, at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster with Maj. Mary West officiating followed by inurnment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be a half hour prior (12:30 - 1:00 p.m.) to services at the funeral home.
