Obituary for Denver L. Welty "Together Again"

Denver Lee Welty, age 96, of Wooster, was reunited with his wife Ida when he went home to be with his Lord on Thursday April 25, 2019 at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster where he had been a resident for the last 11 and a half years.

He was born on December 20, 1922 to David and Susan (Gerber) Welty at his home in Kidron, Ohio.

Denver and Ida Melinda Zimmerly were wed on January 16, 1944. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2007.

He was a life long farmer who also worked as a Boiler Operator at the OARDC and also with Yoder's Greenhouse. He had various other jobs such as working at The Fabricators, for Henry Kauffman, and he sold his farm produce from door to door.

He and his wife, Ida were members of Sonneberg Mennonite Church of Kidron and then Wooster Mennonite Church of Wooster. Denver and his family appreciated the regular visits especially later in his life.

He is survived by their 3 children, Nancy (Don) Yutzy of Apple Creek, Larry (Debra Tryer) Welty of Suttons Bay, MI and Donald Welty of Wooster. Denver was also blessed with 4 grandsons, Chris and Darren Yutzy, Dustin and Nic Welty; great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson and a sister, Edith Welty (Gerald) Pinnicks of Apple Creek.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A family burial will be held at Maple Grove Memorial Park Cemetery, 7012 Back Orrville Rd. in Wooster on Monday, April 29, at 9:30 a.m.

A memorial service will then follow on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Wooster Mennonite Church with Pastor Jacob Dodson officiating. There will be a time of fellowship and food following the services at the church.

The family wishes to especially thank the staff of Glendora Health Care Center for their special care and concern given to Denver during his stay.
