Obituary for Willard W. Hershberger

Willard W. Hershberger, age 84 of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his residence following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family.
He was born on November 25, 1931 in Holmes County (Berlin Twp.) to Eli E. and Sarah (Mullet) Hershberger. He spent most of his life in the Holmes County area before moving to Wooster upon his retirement.
He had served in Alternative Services (1W) in Cleveland during the Korean Conflict and married Wilma Rose Kuhns on April 19, 1953 at the East Union Mennonite Church in Orrville. She survives.
He was a member of Church Of The Saviour in Wooster for over 30 years where he also taught Sunday School for over 20 years; was an ordained minister for 18 years; had a heart for supporting missionary work throughout the years; was owner/ operator of Berlin Auto Parts; was Manager of the World Book Encyclopedia and also involved with other various sales positions throughout the years; drove school bus; enjoyed traveling, reading, jigsaw puzzles, was an avid fisherman and loved Blue Grass music.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Marty (Janet) Hershberger of Wooster; daughters, Marcella (Donald) Baker of Millersburg, Kathryn (Gary) Radtke of Wooster and Gayle (Gary) Rowe of Holmesville; grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Hershberger of Clayton, N.C., Amy (Eric) Hendricks of Pataskala, Oh., Seth (Ashley) Hershberger of Mentor, Oh., Katie (Brent) Pokopac of Loveland, Oh., Sara (Adam) Irwin of Atavia, Oh., Sara (Larry) Cook of Killbuck, Oh., Rachel Baker of Millersburg, Daniel (Tosha) Baker of Wooster, Andrew (Emily) Baker of Seville, Andrea (Nathan) Harris of Williamsburg, Va., Spencer and Ryan Radtke of Barberton, Luke (Alyson) Baker of Chagrin Falls, Oh., and Mitch (Kelley) Baker of Midway, UT.; great-grandchildren, Cade Hershberger, Raylan and Brock Hendricks, Cooper Hershberger, Josiah and Ella Pokopac, Logan West, Adrianne, Lily and David Cook, Amber and Lauren Harris. a brother, Merven (Mickie) Hershberger of Shreve and a sister-in-law, Mary (David) Huffman of Shreve.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, R. Dean Hershberger.
An interment will take place Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Newkirk Cemetery in Big Prairie with services to follow , 11:30 a.m. at the Church of The Saviour in Wooster. Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Dr. Brent Durham will officiate.
Visitation will be Friday at the church from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m.
