Obituary for Alfred Raymond "Al" McMillen

Alfred "Al" Raymond McMillen, age 93, of Wooster, passed away, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster after a period of declining health.
He was born on June 30, 1922 in Coshocton, Ohio to Raleigh and Hazel (Frazee) McMillen. He was a graduate of Bladensburg High School and attended the Ohio State University.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in both the European and North African Theaters and then discharged in 1945. He then re-enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1948. He was the proud recipient of many service awards, including the purple heart, and the silver and bronze stars. On July 28, 1949, he married Rosella Mossholder. She survives.
Al was a 32 year employee of BF Goodrich in Akron where he served as Regional Director of Customer Service before retiring in 1986. He was a member of Northview Alliance Church in Wooster.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Greg (Marilyn) McMillen of Shreve and Jon (Mary) McMillen of Wooster; 3 grandchildren, Alisa Cullen, Shannon Cason and Kelly McMillen; and five great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Tina Miller and Brad (Melissa) McElroy and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his eldest son, Jeffrey.
It was his wishes to have private services which will take place at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to convey a special thank you to both LifeCare Hospice and Glendora Health Care Center of Wooster for their loving care and support. They also want to thank Custer-Glenn Funeral Home for helping the family with arrangements.
