Obituary for RC Combs

Rev RC Combs, age 83, of West Salem, OH., was taken home by angels to be with his heavenly Father, Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on April 6, 1930 in Scuddy, Kentucky to Roosevelt and Sophia (York) Combs and has been a Wooster resident since 1955.
He married Ruby Feltner in Jeff, Kentucky in 1951. She survives.
RC worked for Regal Ware in Wooster for 36 years as a Shipping Foreman before retiring in 1991 and also pastored numerous Church Of God churches in Perrysville, Loudonville and in Millersburg.
He was a member of the former South St. Church of God in Wooster. Following his retirement he became a member of Mt. Zion Church Of God; enjoyed studying the bible many times over; loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Davey Combs of Shreve,Oh., Ron Combs of West Salem, Oh., Deloris "Dolly" (Tim) LaBelle of Newburgh, Indiana, Julia (Michael) Brindle of Polk, Oh., and Kathy Bailey of West Salem, Oh.; 9 grandchildren, Rich (Kim) Combs, David Combs, Catherine & Benjamin LaBelle, Melissa (Dustin) Beattie, Michelle (Kevin) Kubitz, Kayla Combs, Brooke (Cody) Slagle and Nicole Combs; 9 great-grandchildren, Celeste Combs, Lilly Combs, Caiden Combs, Riley Kubitz, Morgan Kubitz, Peyton Kubitz, Dalton Beattie, Paige Beattie and Kai Slagle; many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, "Baby".
In addition to his mother and step-father, David Sargeant, he is preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Edna Pierce and Kathleen Clark.
Services will be Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church Of God, in Wooster with Pastor Tom Geissinger officiating with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster and 2 hours prior (11:00 - 1:00 p.m. ) to services on Tuesday at the church.
