The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Obituary for Carlos D. "Duke" Goad

Carlos D. "Duke" Goad, age 80, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, June 17th, 2012 at his residence where he was surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.
Services will be Thursday, 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church of God, in Wooster with Pastor Tom Geissinger officiating followed by interment at Wooster Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster and one and half hour prior to services at the church on Thursday from 12:00-1:30 p.m. There will be a luncheon for family and friends served at the church following the interment.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
He was born in Braxton County, W.Va. on September 22, 1931 to Charlie and Alta (Stanaker) Goad and has been a Wooster resident for most of his life.
He served in the Korean Conflict in the Medic Corps from July, 1952-August, 1954.
He married A.Jean (Sutfine) on July, 1983. She went home to be with the Lord, on November, 2011.
He previously worked as a Buffer for the Moen Corporation in Elyria for 30 years. After retirement, he became Manager for Heritage Square in Wellington for the next 25 years.
He was a member of the American Legion, The Wellington Moose Club and the Ohio Fishing and Hunting Club. He was also an avid gun and coin collector.
He is survived by sons, Richard P. Goad and Terry Mark (Delores) Goad of Maysville, Ohio; daughters, Brenda J. (David E.) Custer and Linda J. (Brian M.) McFadden all of Wooster; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, he is preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister.
