Obituary for Ray Ullom

Ray Ullom, age 76, of Wooster, entered into rest, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Wooster Sub-Acute at Country Point in Wooster.
Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster, with Pastor Ken Thomas officiating followed by interment at Smithville Cemetery in Smithville. Military rites will be conducted by the Wooster American Legion.
Visitation will be one hour (1:00 - 2:00 p.m.) prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either: Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or First Church Of God, 1953 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

He was born in Alma, W.Va. on September 16, 1935 to Arthur and Mary (Baker) Ullom and has lived most of his life in the Wayne County area.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and married Harriet E. Pauley. She entered into rest on November 28, 1996.
He previously worked as a Truck Driver for 45 years and most recently for Yellow Freight Trucking Company.
He was a member of First Church of God in Wooster; the American Legion Post 68 of Wooster; Wooster Eagles Post 811 of Wooster and Life Member of the Wooster Moose Lodge #115 where he held many offices and degree's throughout the years; the last 10 years he enjoyed singing karaoke.
He is survived by a son, Richard (Margaret) Ullom of Wadsworth, Ohio; a grandaughter, Brittany of Wadsworth and a sister, Donna Jean Specht of Apple Creek.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Hobert, Roger and Herman Ullom and a sister, Edith Mae Tate.
